This quick and simple chocolate mug cake can be whipped up in less than ten minutes using ingredients you’re sure to have in your kitchen cupboard. Perfect for when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to spend all afternoon baking!

We used hazelnuts in ours, but these are optional. If you’re not a fan, you could try a spoonful of peanut butter for that nutty taste. Or keep it simple with plain chocolate cake! The only limit is your imagination, so go wild with different flavour combos!

We served ours with a generous helping of whipped cream on top, but we’re sure a dollop of vanilla ice cream would taste great, too. The quantities listed below filled our Quite Big size mug about two thirds of the way up (leaving just enough room for all of that whipped cream). For smaller sizes, adjust ingredients slightly.

If you try this recipe, we’d love to see your finished cakes!
